The alchemist palette is a beautiful white holographic triangle, it feels like durable cardboard palette with a magnetic closure, on the inside there is as small mirror and four shades Emerald (Green), Saphyre (Blue), Amethyst (Ultra-Violet), Opal (Pink). This palette can be used as eyeshadow, highlighter or a top-coat for eyeshadow and lipstick.
The colors don’t look impressive when in the pan, but when applied they have a holographic appearance, almost like a duo chrome metallic glitter, these shadows are not chunky they are very smooth and when I swirled my brush I had minimal dust but it picked up on the brush very well. When I applied it to my eyes I used a fluffy crease brush, I patted it on my eyelids with the brush first then blended it out, it went on very smooth with really no fallout and blended out nicely, the color goes on a little sheer without a base but gives a gorgeous color and shine. I tested it as a highlighter, these are bold colors for highlighters but if you’re a person who likes a bold highlight these are gorgeous, I dusted them on with a fluffy highlight brush and when they hit the light they beam. I also tried them as a top-coat for lipstick, they give the lipstick a metallic duo chrome like finish, great for changing up a lip color.
The texture of the formula was dustier, a little drier to the touch, and I found they layered best over still-drying cream products or shimmery eyeshadows but did not work well over a dried, matte cream eyeshadow. The dustier formula made them very blendable as a cheek highlighter, though, and of all the ways I tried the product, they were easiest and had the most noticeable shift applied as highlighters, whether alone or layered over another cheek color. They layered best over matte and satin finish lip products, as they seemed to get absorbed and muted by more emollient formulas.
This palette contains: - 4 x 0.05 oz/ 1.53 g Holographic Shades in Emerald (green) Saphyre (blue) Amethyst (ultra-violet) Opal (pink) What it is formulated WITHOUT: - Parabens - Sulfates - Phthalates
Emerald
Emerald is a pale, greenish-white that shifted from pink to golden green. It had good color payoff with a soft, lightly dusty texture. The product lasted for seven hours as an eye product and eight hours as a cheek product.
Saphyre
Saphyre is a bluish white with pink base that shifted to a cool, bluish sheen. The pigmentation was mostly opaque, while the texture was a touch dusty but blendable and easy to use on the skin. It wore well for eight hours as a cheek highlighter and seven and a half hours as an eyeshadow.
Amethyst
Amethyst is a light-medium lavender with cool undertones and a bluish-violet sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied well to bare skin, both on the eyes and on the cheeks, as well as most products I attempted to layer it with (but it seemed dustiest over cream eyeshadows that had dried down completely). It wore well for eight hours on as a highlighter and eight hours as an eyeshadow.
Opal
Opal is a muted, dirty beige with a pink to violet shift paired with a pearly sheen. The consistency was soft, blendable, and just a touch dusty. I felt like it looked drier on my bare eyelid, but it was fine over another product. On cheeks, I did not notice any dryness from the product itself. The product lasted for eight hours as a cheek highlighter and seven hours as an eyeshadow on me.
