Lashes 3D by Eylure

Wearing Fortuna Lashes

Wearing Tiffany Lashes

If you are anything like me you will not be seen on a night out without a pair of eyelashes on!
I love eyelashes I really feel you can do so much more with your eye makeup with a pair of lashes on.
When I do big dark eyeshadows and liners I feel my natural lashes seem to disappear and blend away so by adding a pair of lashes to the makeup, it makes your lashes stand out and also compliments your makeup. They are also great to glam up natural makeup for the extra oomph when you want to really stand out.

These are Eylure 3D brand. Check them out and also for makeup details check pics on Instagram @beautybygisell

Uterine Fibroids

I wanted to do this post to bring awareness to all women of all ages. Take care of your bodies starting early in age. Please see this video and if your periods are heavy it’s usually a sign. Please share and subscribe. Take care of yourselves.

What are Uterine Fibroids?
  • Fibroids are benign (non-cancer) growths of the uterus, or womb
  • Fibroids are very common in women of childbearing age.
  • Fibroids are made of muscle cells and other tissues
  • Fibroids are fed by nutrient-rich blood from the uterine arteries
  • Fibroids grow over time
  • Fibroids become smaller after a woman stops having periods (menopause)
  • The cause of fibroids is unknown
  • Risk factors for having fibroids include being African American, being 40 to 50 years of age, and being overweight or obese.
What causes fibroids?
No one knows for sure what causes fibroids. Researchers think that more than one factor could play a role. These factors could be:
  • hormonal (affected by estrogen and progesterone levels)
  • genetic (runs in families)
We do know that they are under hormonal control—both estrogen and progesterone. They grow rapidly during pregnancy, when hormone levels are high. They shrink when anti-hormone medication is used. They also stop growing or shrink once a woman reaches menopause.
Who gets fibroids?
There are factors that can increase a woman’s risk of developing fibroids.
  • Age. Fibroids become more common as women age, especially during the 30s and 40s through menopause. After menopause, fibroids usually shrink.
  • Family history. Having a family member with fibroids increases your risk. If a woman’s mother had fibroids, her risk of having them is about three times higher than average.
  • Ethnic origin. African-American women are more likely to develop fibroids than white women.
  • Obesity. Women who are over- weight are at higher risk for fibroids. For very heavy women, the risk is two to three times greater than aver- age.
  • Eating habits. Eating a lot of red meat (e.g., beef) is linked with a higher risk of fibroids. Eating plenty of green vegetables seems to protect women from developing fibroids.
What are symptoms of fibroids?
Fibroids may have the following symptoms:
  • Changes in menstruation
Longer, more frequent, or heavy menstrual periods
Menstrual pain (cramps)
Vaginal bleeding at times other than menstruation
Anemia (from blood loss)
  • Pain
In the abdomen or lower back (often dull, heavy and aching, but may be sharp)
During sex
  • Pressure
Difficulty urinating or frequent urination
Constipation, rectal pain, or difficult bowel movements
Abdominal cramps
  • Enlarged uterus and abdomen
  • Miscarriages
  • Infertility
  • Fibroids also may cause no symptoms at all. Fibroids may be found during a routine pelvic exam or during tests for other problems.
What If Patient Becomes Pregnant and has Fibroids?
Asymptomatic small or medium sized fibroids alone are unlikely to present significant risk to pregnancy. However, fibroids may increase in size as a result of increased levels of hormones and blood flow to the uterus during pregnancy. The growth of fibroids may cause discomfort, feelings of pressure, or pain. Additionally, large or multiple fibroids can increase the risk of:
  • Cesarean section-The risk of needing a c-section is six times greater for women with fibroids.
  • Breech Presentation- The baby is positioned with its legs down and head up rather than the head down.
  • Labor fail
Please read and see more information. I included this video which is my daughter going through this. Take care of yourselves.

Best Food for your Skin

In my experience, skin problems can be the most complicated and frustrating issues. Especially when the issues are written all over your face … hello acne! I’ve been through it myself and have had to hone in on making sure my diet is improving and not hurting my complexion. Our skin is our largest organ and it’s usually the first to signal that something may be off in our bodies. Think acne, blemishes, eczema, bumpy rashes, and more. I always encourage my clients to take their skin message seriously.
There are so many factors that play into skin issues. Think stress for instance. If you’re overly stressed and your body is releasing too much cortisol, you could be battling your own adrenal system, throwing off your hormones and creating an imbalance that can lead to acne. There are environmental chemicals that can affect your skin as well. Hormones, ahh—clear skin’s worst enemy. Allergies to food, household cleaners, and more can also be the root of skin blemishes. No matter which root problem you’re facing, these foods can help get your skin going in the right direction.
Here are the top five foods and one drink I recommend to help improve your complexion.

Fish

I know this isn’t most people’s favorite food. I’ve been working in nutrition way too long to believe most people will eat fish three times a week. The key here is omega 3 fatty acids. If you can’t eat fish three times a week, then supplementing with omega 3 may be a good idea. This can improve hydration and even regulate oil production. In fact, when I’m ovulating or expecting my period, I add a dose of omega 3 myself.

Berries

The darker the better. Berries are loaded with skin-loving antioxidants. They’re also jam-packed with fiber, which helps to regulate blood sugar levels. Managing healthy blood sugar levels is vital for skin health, especially if those issues are related to hormones.

Nuts

They’re high in minerals like zinc and selenium, which are your skin’s best friends! After nursing four babies, I found my levels of zinc and selenium very low, and nuts helped to bring them back up. Selenium helps to increase the number of infection-fighting white blood cells. Zinc has long been linked to improving your immune system and protecting against free radicals and pathogens

Yogurt and kefir

Healthy gut, healthy skin. Remember that. These foods contain probiotics, which are the good bacteria our gut needs to keep a healthy balance. These foods can improve digestion and lower inflammation.

Garlic

Does anything smell better than olive oil and garlic cooking on a low temperature? Your skin loves this combo too! Each clove of garlic contains a chemical called allicin. This chemical reacts with our own blood to be able to kill off harmful bacteria and viruses. Oftentimes, acne is the result of a bacteria that is living in our bodies.

Green tea

Have you ever noticed your tea-drinking friends have the best complexions? Maybe it’s because they’re reaping the benefits of green tea. Green tea contains powerful antioxidants that can combat the free radicals that are bothering your skin and your immune system. The healthier your immune system, the better your skin.
If you love the idea of adding these foods, but it seems overwhelming, try my 10-day plan and see how much your skin loves these foods.
