Spooky Eyes for any Ocassion

I was recently introduced to Dream Eyes Contact Lenses by SpookyEyes.com.  They have a new range of lenses and new designs that the company added to their store. Dream Eyes Contact Lenses are high quality fashion contact lenses and are FDA approved. They are soft and breathable, with a high water content that makes them very comfortable to wear. They also have fun design for Halloween or any fun event.

I'm posting a review I never thought I'd do, but when the opportunity came along, I figured why not?
Spooky Eyes sent me a pair of colored contacts to review, their Natural Light Brown  to be precise. The contacts are non-prescription, and come as a pair. They are stored in packets with a sterile saline solution, just like standard contacts.

Another great thing is that, once opened and if they are properly taken care of, your Dream Eyes contacts are good for 12 months!

Do I look creepy, spooky or like an Alien?

The Best Eye Shadow for Your Eye Color

One of my favorite ways to wear makeup is to emphasize the eyes and wear a subtle lip color. I usually reverse the look and make my lips pop for the evening night out. However you choose to apply it, there are some shadow colors that look amazing when paired with certain eye colors. If you’re looking to enhance your own natural eye color, here’s a list of complementary shades that will make the look pop.

The Best Eye Shadow for Your Eye Color

Brown Eyes - Brown eyes can really pull of a great variety of looks. To make them pop, try using shades of blue, navy, or purple for a fashion forward look. For an intense look, play with fake eyelashes. It can change the look dramatically.

Hazel Eyes – To emphasize the blended beauty of hazel eyes, try using shades of gold, grey, and brown.

Green Eyes – To really play up green eyes, try using shades of burgundy, violet, and pink. Shades of dark blue are also a great way to offset the eye’s natural color.

Blue Eyes – try warm tones such as bronze, peach, brown and mauve make a beautiful contrast.

Grey Eyes – Grey eyes really sparkle in shades of plum, dark green, violet, and mauve. For a smoky look, use a smudged eyeliner in Dark Browns

BB, CC, and DD Creams

With BB, CC, and now DD creams in the store counters, makeup shopping can get confusing. To much to learn but truth be told, there’s not a ton of differences and

Here's is a comparison list in details:

BB Creams
What it stands for: Beauty balm
Texture: Creamy and moisturizing
What it does: Offers daily sun protection, extra hydration, and a touch more coverage than a tinted moisturizer. Because they don't have a high concentration of anti-aging ingredients, "use them as a supplement—not in place of—your other anti-aging creams or serums.

CC Creams
What it stands for: Color correcting
Texture: Lightweight and fast-absorbing
What it does: Imparts an airy veil of coverage and a boost of both instant and protective coverage. "They typically have light-diffusing particles, which visually even skin tone, plus a super-dose of antioxidants.

DD Creams
What it stands for: Daily defense
Texture: See BB Creams
What it does: Not much more than its predecessors. "These have SPF, protect the skin barrier to prevent moisture loss, and balance uneven tone. Ps. DDs were created for dry areas like feet, knees, and elbows.

I hope you understand them a little more. Which ones do you like? I use CC Studio Gear Cream, sometimes under my foundation for extra coverage and smoothness on certain spots on my face.

What do you use? Let us know in the comment section below.

You're Doing It Wrong With Face Wipes

YDIW_Wipes

We use cleansing wipes in place of a real cleanser-and-water routine a bit more often than we’d like to admit. We’ve also been hearing some rumors about the potential negative side effects of using them regularly, which just about scared us back to soap and water every night yet again. That was probably a good choice.
“Cleansing wipes are a great option to wash away some of the dirt and grime when on the go, after the gym, or when getting home super late after a night of dancing, but they shouldn’t be viewed as a permanent substitute for twice daily cleansing at the sink,” says Dr. Marnie Nussbaum, a board certified dermatologist and chief medical spokesperson for Sebamed. “The active ingredients in makeup remover wipes are generally the same as regular cleansers: Both rely on surfactants, which dissolve makeup as well as help lift makeup, oil and dead skin.”
The biggest difference between cleansing wipes and a proper facial cleanser, she says, “is that without the added step of rinsing with water, wipes aren’t as thorough and leave behind a portion of the grime on your skin. Since you’re not rinsing the residue left behind, skin is often exposed to high concentrations of solubilizers and surfactants that can leave skin dry and irritated.”
As for what not to do? Dr. Nussbaum advises against using cleansing wipes for more than three days in a row. “When you’re back at the sink, make sure to replenish skin with a milky cleanser that will really emulsify leftover residue,” like Sebamed Liquid Face and Body Wash ($39.95, sebamedusa.com). She says of the cleanser, “It’s a great multi-tasking, soap-free milky cleanser that provides a gentle, deep cleansing of the pores while naturally conditioning the skin.”

Signs You Should Get Your Thyroid Checked

I have been suffering from thyroid disease for couple years now. Trust me when I say this is no fun and I wish there would be a cure. I found this great article on another website, and I posted the link at the bottom of this post for credit to them.

Let's take care of our health. Let's inform one another and stay healthy!

If you aren’t too sure what your thyroid is or what it does – don’t worry, you aren’t alone. The thyroid is an endocrine gland that’s responsible for production and storage of hormones that can affect nearly every organ in the body. It’s good to be aware of your thyroid since it can have a fairly significant impact on a host of bodily functions such as your heartbeat regularity, body temp and even metabolism. This way, if you are experiencing any changes in your body you can always check off to see whether they are being caused by this tricky gland. Your thyroid is located in your neck, is shaped like a butterfly and due to genetics, pregnancy, stress, nutritional deficiencies and a host of other issues can end up sluggish or over active. When your thyroid becomes under or over active, a variety of symptoms can occur. Take a look at these signs you should get your thyroid checked to stay in tune with your thyroid health at all times. You feel like your heart is skipping. If your heart feels fluttery or like it’s beating super hard, this can be a sign of hyperthyroidism – meaning too many thyroid hormones are flooding your system all at once. You’re tired all the time. While exhaustion can certainly be associated with a host of other issues, feeling consistently tired can be a sign of an underactive thyroid. When you’re still tired after a great night’s sleep day in and day out, it may be time to see your doc. You feel wired, anxious and jittery. When an overly active thyroid is making too many thyroid hormones, your whole body can feel like it’s going into overdrive. If you’re feeling like you just can’t chill out and relax, you may be suffering from a hyperactive thyroid – and it’s time to get it checked out. You’re hungry all the time. You may not experience any weight gain, but an increased appetite is a common sign of hyperthyroidism. You can’t seem to find your sex drive. Hypothyroidism has been known to be a contributor to a low libido, but a lack of desire can also be affected by exhaustion, weight gain and general body aches. You have dry and itchy skin. Slowed metabolism can starve the skin of necessary moisture and can be caused by lowered thyroid hormone production. Brittle nails, reduced sweating and flaky skin can all be signs that it’s time to have your thyroid checked. You feel unusually down and out. An overactive thyroid can quickly result in feelings of sadness or depression because serotonin levels are affected by thyroid disorders. Thyroid malfunction can affect so many parts of the body that this list is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to signs that you should get your thyroid checked. Have you ever suffered from any of these symptoms?

How to Choose The Best Hair Color for Your Skin Tone

Experimenting around with hair color can be so much fun and terrifying at the same time! But, have you ever noticed certain colors make you look a bit washed out? Finding the perfect hair color means finding a shade that helps you look your best and finding the perfect hair colors for your skin tone is actually easier than you think.

·     If you have a cool skin tone, most likely you have blue, green, deep brown or grey eyes and you look stunning in bright whites paired with silver jewelry. Hair colors with a cooler pigment base like black, auburn or ash blonde will make you look your best.

·     If you have a warm skin tone, you may have hazel, brown or green eyes. You look great in warm ivories, coral and other warm colors. You also look your best in gold jewelry and hair color with similar warm tones – like honey and golden blonde.

·     If you have a deep skin tone, you probably have dark brown eyes and you look your best in bright colors. The best hair colors on you include those same deep pigments – like chocolate brown and black.

I always dyed my hair black for years and I finally found the right blonde for my skin tone. which is the pictures in this post. I use redken salon color 8n in front half and 6n half head towards the back. I like the contrast.

What do you think?
