My Top 4 Cold Weather Tips



Cold air, winds and indoor heat can really do a number on your skin. As soon as winter starts to sneak in, I feel the dryness settle in on my face, hands and especially my lips right away.  Adding moisture to your skincare for cold weather is an absolute must.

• Reevaluate your skin care routines based on the season. As the seasons change, the needs of your skin will change too. This means changing products according to your skin needs.
• Keep hot showers shorter. Hot water can really soak up your skin moisture.
• Find the right moisturizer. For winter skin, look for something thick that will really provide deep moisture and good coverage.
• Hydrate, Hydrate and Hydrate! I know I say this all the time with my posts, but in the dry winter air, hydration is more important than ever. Your skin is starving for it.

Hot Oil Treatments

 

 

 

 I have tried coconut oil and it really works wonderfully. I have not tried the other oils but I will soon just to compare. These are oils so a little goes a long way. Make sure to wash your hair twice with shampoo to eliminate that greasy look. You can use these oils with a Scalp Treatment as well, I personally use deep conditioners. Please see pic below for a how to tutorial.

 

 *It is important for scalp massages, to have blood flowing on the scalp especially for MEN. It slows down hair loss.

50 Shades of Grey Hair Color Care

 

Thanks for dropping by. No, I did not mean the book 50 Shades but I mean the Grey Hair Color. lol. Wether is colored grey, natural gray or MEN GREY hair remember moisture is the key to keep your locks alive.. Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Moisture Please!!!  Then, spray on and comb through a leave-in conditioner, and if at all possible let it air dry, sometimes using a shine product (serum) through it when it's almost dry helps control those stubborn greys.

 

Before using the heat irons, spray on a heat protector, and after have it curled. You can also use a smoothing cream, rub it on your hands, and then lightly run your fingers through your hair, underside first so it doesn't go on too heavy on top. Then, hairspray for fine hair, and I use a touch of sculpting gel on my part to try to minimize flyaways. Which there's only so much you can do about those, but when they're gray they're more noticeable, so do what you can.

 

Beyond products, regular hair cuts are super important. You've got to keep gray hair healthy and trimmed, no matter what the length. A trim makes a huge difference in manageability, and if your hair is ever looking raggedy or driving you crazy with tangles and flyaways, the first thing you should think about is, when did you last get it cut.
