Gisell's Top 5 Steps to Remove Makeup Easily

Do you want to look older than you are? NO? Well then always take off your makeup at night.  It is the single most important part of your daily skincare routine. Cut corners on other things but don’t skip this one.  If you don’t your skin can’t rest and renew while you sleep.

Having said this it is of course important to remove your makeup in the right way.  It certainly shouldn’t take longer to take your makeup off that it does to put it on. I have created my top 5 steps to remove makeup easily.

Gisell's top 5 steps to remove makeup easily are:

Step 1 – Pull your hair back
This takes literally seconds but if you don’t tie your hair off your face you can’t get to all of your face and your hairline.  Makeup and dirt can build up around your hairline. I use a headband and it holds even the baby hairs back and out my way.

Step 2 – Be gentle around your eyes
Easy ways to remove eyeliner and mascara are essential techniques as they are the hardest to get off. Especially if they are water proof makeup. You need to do this gently as the skin around the eyes is sensitive. I use a cotton pad and an oil based eye make-up remover and hold the pad over your lids and lashes for about 10 seconds to allow the remover to dissolve the products gently, before wiping.  For any stubborn bits dip a cotton bud into the remover and dab on the eyelid as needed.

Step 3 – Cleanse and tone
Your daily cleanser should take off any makeup on your face.  Rub the cleanser over your face ensuring you go to the hairline and under your chin, and let it soak in for a few seconds before removing with a flannel or a cotton pad soaked in warm water.  Then put your daily toner onto a cotton pad and rub gently over your face.

Step 4 – Don’t use too much product
Keep the amount of remover, moisturiser or toner on your makeup pads to a minimum.  There is no need to use tons of product to remove the makeup easily… it is easier on your skin to use less and will save you money in the long run. I a all about money savings.

Step 5 – Mask is your friend
If your skin is in need of a quick boost use a good mask. It will do a deeper cleanse from inside the pores. I use masks once a week.

There! Its easy fast and your skin will thank you in the long run.
